Housing and Resident Services Coordinator

Job Summary

This is a highly responsible position that provides support to a diverse group of residents living at McManus Manor. This role coordinates tenants with services and activities to improve their quality of residency and to assist with lease renewal and compliance. As the McManus Manor Coordinator (MM) the incumbent is responsible for assisting with lease renewals, work order submissions, rent collection, lease compliance, applications, and other duties as assigned. The coordinator responds to constituent office visits, phone calls, and requests from residents. The coordinator also assists with ongoing on-site activities for tenants. This position requires public contact and handling of confidential information.

The incumbent receives general supervision from the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director and Office Manager.

1. Works in partnership with AHA management for on-site clerical and resident services McManus Manor.

2. As Lease Coordinator responsibilities include:

a. Receives and processes telephone calls and visitors.

b. Disseminates information to tenants as necessary.

c. Communicates with tenants either in person or by phone for agency/tenant.

matters and needs.

d. Works to coordinate unit turnover and annual inspections as needed with Administrative Staff and works as the on-site liaison for move-in assistance. Works with maintenance to Ensure Cleanliness of Property and Units.

e. Assists with enforcement of Acton Housing Authority Policies such as Smoking and Parking.

f. Sends out annual redetermination packets to residents. Reviews returned packet for completeness and eligibility and in writing when packets are not complete.

g. Attend trainings as needed.

h. Delivers tenant notices to coordinate lease enforcement. Refers leases to Administrative Office for issues with lease compliance.

i. Assists with minor on-site work order needs such as unit lock-out during business hours and putting work orders in system.

j. Assists with Data and reporting as needed as well as other duties as deemed fit by management.

3. McManus Manor Resident Services Coordinator duties include:
a. Inform resident of available social service programs offered through the Acton Housing Authority and other local Human Service Providers.

b. Plan and coordinate monthly year-round activities.

c. Develop and maintain resident communication tools including newsletters, flyers, calendars, and announcements.

d. Coordinate tenant concerns with Administrative Staff.

e. Attend meetings and represent the AHA in service-related collaborations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service skills, a background in human services, and familiarity with public housing. Additionally, candidates will have a knowledge of local Human Service Agencies and ability to work with diverse populations.

Candidate must have ability to work Full Time and attend occasional evening events if planned or needed.

Valid Massachusetts’s Driver’s License

Must maintain an ability to walk and traverse rental units, hallways, offices, and walk up and down stairs, and lift/or move up to 25 pounds. Position requires the ability to communicate with tenants, applicants, and staff.

Pay approximately $75,000 to $80,000, commiserate with experience.
