Job Description

Your next move: master the systems that power guest experiences

What if your technical expertise directly impacted thousands of meals served each day? As a Restaurant Facilities & Refrigeration Service Engineer with Colliers, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping Chick-fil-A kitchens and building systems reliable across a defined local market. You’ll have the freedom of field work and the strength of Colliers’ best-in-class service network—complete with training, tools, and real-time support—so you can own outcomes and grow your career.

Can you see yourself

  • Arriving onsite, consulting live with the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team, and restoring a down fryer before the lunch rush?
  • Diagnosing a sealed refrigeration issue in a walk-in cooler and coordinating parts with the manufacturer the same day?
  • Tuning a Lennox rooftop unit so the dining room stays comfortable through a summer heatwave?

If that sounds like a challenge you’d own, read on.

What you’ll do

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and remove commercial kitchen equipment and base building HVAC systems.
  • Service hot-side cooking equipment, sealed-system refrigeration, specialty foodservice equipment, and HVAC.
  • Meet service level agreements by responding quickly to Operator requests.
  • Hands-on with brands like Henny Penny, Follett, Lennox (HVAC), Traulsen, Hobart mixers, Champion dishwashers, and Garland Grill.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers for diagnostic insights and parts identification.
  • Install ordered parts precisely; test and document results.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation: work orders, time entries, receipts, and truck stock inventory.
  • Organize your vehicle, tools, and spare parts for efficient service.
  • Support on-call emergency response during non-standard hours; follow all safety and accident prevention procedures.
  • Pursue OEM training and certifications; engage with suppliers and vendors to strengthen the service network.
  • Meet or exceed productivity targets in line with company standards.

What you bring

  • Technical trade training and/or equivalent hands-on experience; 5+ years related trade experience or equivalent.
  • Proven capability in one or more of the following: sealed refrigeration/HVAC, electrical systems, mechanical systems, process controls, hot-side equipment, or mechanical power transmission.
  • Experience with kitchen equipment servicing, facilities maintenance, or construction systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance, safe MVR, and the ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Mechanical aptitude; able to interpret diagrams and schematics.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, and mobile service applications.
  • Clear communication skills; a self-starter mindset and a positive, service-oriented approach.

Where and how you’ll work

  • 100% travel within a defined local market; limited overnight travel primarily for onboarding and training.
  • Availability for extended periods during emergencies or high-priority situations (including overtime).
  • Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to two stories (ladder safety training provided). Roof access ladders are provided; van loading/unloading of a large ladder is non-typical.
  • Extended standing and walking on even and uneven surfaces; frequent use of arms, wrists, and hands to operate tools and machinery.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
