Assistant Buildings & Grounds Manager

Job Description

Glenbrook High School District 225 is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Buildings and Grounds Manager (Daytime), scheduled to commence on June 1, 2026. This is a year-round administrator role operating on a 260-day school work calendar and includes applicable administrator-level benefits.

In collaboration with the Buildings and Grounds Manager, the Assistant Buildings and Grounds Manager establishes departmental standards and assists with related duties as needed. The Assistant Manager directly supervises, communicates expectations to, and evaluates all maintenance personnel. Serving as the primary onsite contact, the Assistant Manager oversees daily operations, addresses staff requests, and supports the Buildings and Grounds Manager in managing assigned projects. Additionally, the Assistant Manager is the main onsite contact for GBOC (GBS Assistant Manager), GBA (GBS Assistant Manager), and GBT (GBN Assistant Manager).


Applicants should hold the following education/experience qualifications:

  • Possess at least five (5) years of successful experience in the maintenance field, preferably in a school district.
  • Possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in the techniques of custodial operations, and basic techniques in building and grounds maintenance.
  • Possess significant demonstrated experience in HVAC systems and related repairs, including the management of a building automation system.
  • Possess highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills to make sound and proactive decisions with little or no direction.
  • Possesses experience supervising, leading, and evaluating teams.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

This position comes with a competitive compensation package, family health and dental insurance, full tuition reimbursement, and basic life insurance coverage of up to two times the individual's annual base salary, capped at a maximum of $500,000.
