Send Resume to mark.lerose@focuslearn.orgThe ESL Teacher position is a full time, non-supervisory position providing students with appropriate educational activities and experiences that will enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth while at the same time allowing them to acclimate into the English language. The Teacher's primary concern is the academic development of each student in mastering the English language while making efforts to master the skills as presented in the curriculum. This will enable the student to be prepared for the state required testing, graduation from high school and success after graduation. Member of the school administrative team as well as the Intervention Assistance Team (IAT).

Full-time with excellent retirement benefits (STRS), health, dental, life, and vision insurance.As the climate of the school culture has shifted due to the pandemic, additional requirements include but are not limited to: Addressing learning loss by: administering and using high-quality assessments to assess students academic progress and meet students academic needs, including through differentiating instruction; implementing evidence-based activities to meet the comprehensive needs of students; providing information and assistance to parent and families on how they can effectively support students, including in a distance learning environment; and/or tracking student attendance and improving student engagement in distance education.RESPONSIBILITIESWorks within the confines of an existing ESL program with a willingness to bring innovation to that program.Oversee and administrate the established curriculum, adjusting for modifications needed or required for differences in student learning stylesTeach instructional subjects according to guidelines established by the Ohio Department of Education and administrative regulationsImplement appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment to ensure comprehension of learning styles and student needs especially as the relate to ESLCollaborate with special education teachers on student Individual Education Plans to ensure all modifications are metWorking knowledge of curriculum, instruction and technology to ensure delivery of the instructional processCreate a rich learning environment for all students to learn and employ effective behavioral management process to maintain an effective laboratory experienceHelp students assess and enhance their study methods and habitsProduce formal and informal testing to evaluate student success Coordinate and manage extracurricular duties as assignedPrepare classroom to enhance learning and to aid in physical, social and emotional development of studentsControl and guide student behavior in agreement with school policyEnsure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect students, equipment, materials and facilitiesEstablish communication rapport with parents, students, principals and teachersPresent information accurately through clear communication skillsGather, manage and file all reports, records and other documents requiredTeam member and able to communicate and collaborate with all staff members on issues concerning students, staff, and facilityOversee attendance procedures and ensure compliance with all attendance activitiesOversee students additional curriculum work hour requirements, reviewing for accuracy Refer students and inform appropriate personnel of student issues; such as vocation issues social/emotional issues or transcript/record concerns Immediately alert to appropriate personnel any safety concerns, such as suspicion of weapons or drugs
