Processing plant operator

Gilmac is Australia’s leading hay exporter, supplying premium export markets including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China for the past 40 years. We are seeking hardworking and reliable Plant Operators to join our hay processing operations across regional Australia. As a Plant Operator, you will play a key hands-on role in operating and maintaining our hay processing plants, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality production. What You’ll Be Doing • Operating and maintaining hay processing equipment and machinery. • Running, troubleshooting and maintaining fixed and mobile plant equipment. • Processing and packaging export-quality hay products. • Maintaining safety, quality and production standards. • Working within a team environment across day and night rotating shifts. Full training in hay processing, quality systems and safety procedures will be provided. What We’re Looking For Applicants who: • Are committed to safety and teamwork • Are willing and able to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts. • Can pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen. • Have a work history of 3 or more years for the same employer. • Can demonstrate competency operating fixed, agricultural and/or mobile plant. • Have the right to work permanently in Australia. • Forklift, telehandler or gantry tickets (or willingness to undertake training). • Strong literacy, computer and communication skills with ability to complete required assessment. What We Offer • Starting rate: AUD $40 per hour. • Consistent full time work with 48-60 hours per week available. • 12% Australian superannuation paid in addition to wages. • Subsidised accommodation. • Stable long term employment. • Located in regional towns 1-2 hours from capital cities Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
