Education/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, additional education in Human Resources, Bookkeeping, or a related field is required;
Previous experience in an office environment or administrative role is preferred;
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment;
Basic knowledge of HR processes, policies, and regulations is a plus;
Knowledge of double entry and fund accounting and the use of accounting software;
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and across different departments;
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards supporting the central office team and employees.
Duties/Skills/Qualifications:
Assist with recruitment by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, onboarding (setting up evaluations), and communicating with candidates;
Maintain and update employee records (filing), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality;
Learn how to prepare invoices, check extensions, billing for third parties, accounts payable, Amazon orders/reconciliations, make bill lists, assist with deposits, and write checks for general funds;
Process paperwork for new hires (onboarding), setting up evaluations, terminations, and employee status changes, following established procedures and timelines;
Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries regarding benefits programs;
Support employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires;
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs, providing timely and accurate information;
Prepare HR-related documents, reports, and HR management as needed;
Coordinate training sessions;
Cross-train/Back-up for Accounts Payable and Payroll;
Process FMLA documents;
Back-up to the telephone system in the administration office;
Enter and post accounting entries;
Maintain high confidentiality and professionalism when handling sevsitive HR information;
Open mail for business office;
Excellent attendance and punctuality;
Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community;
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others;
Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District;
Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
