About the Position

Campbellsville University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Business and Enterprise to begin on or before September 1, 2026.

Reporting directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of the College of Business and Enterprise provides strategic, academic and administrative leadership for the College. This role is responsible for advancing academic excellence, fostering innovation and supporting student success. The Dean serves as the chief advocate for the College and ensures alignment with institutional mission, values and long-term strategic priorities.

The Dean oversees faculty, academic programs, budgeting and external partnerships, while promoting a collaborative, student-centered environment. This position requires a visionary and entrepreneurial leader with strong operational and interpersonal skills who can drive growth, support faculty development and enhance program quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide vision and strategic direction for the College
  • Lead academic planning, program development and innovation
  • Serve as a member of University’s Academic Council
  • Collaborate with other academic and administrative leaders

Academic Oversight

  • Supervise academic programs, curriculum development and program assessment
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and lead program reviews
  • Oversee doctoral and graduate programs within the College
  • Promote academic rigor, teaching excellence and research productivity

Faculty Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire and retain high-quality faculty
  • Oversee faculty orientation, evaluation and promotion processes
  • Support professional development and continuous improvement

Budget & Operations

  • Manage and administer the College’s operating budget
  • Engage in strategic financial planning and resource allocation
  • Partner with University leadership on financial and operational priorities
  • Support grant development and fundraising initiatives

Student Success & Enrollment

  • Support recruitment, retention and student success initiatives
  • Promote a student-centered culture and positive learning environment
  • Collaborate on enrollment strategies and program growth, including the recruitment of international students and managing programs that attract globally

External Engagement

  • Serve as an ambassador for the College to external stakeholders
  • Build partnerships with industry, community organizations and alumni
  • Support development and fundraising efforts

Additional Duties

  • Serve on University committees as assigned
  • Promote a culture of respect, integrity and collaboration
  • Perform other duties as assigned by University leadership

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Earned doctorate in a business, economics or a technology related discipline
  • Academic credentials consistent with appointment at the rank of Professor
  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in academic administration
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, strategic planning and personnel management
  • Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years’ experience in higher education leadership
  • Background in accreditation processes (e.g., IACBE, ACBSP or AACSB)
  • Record of scholarly research and publication
  • Experience with online, hybrid and traditional instructional models
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, partnerships and program growth
