Housing Coordinator (Part-Time – 20 Hours/Week)
Region II Human Services is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-oriented Housing Coordinator to support individuals with behavioral health needs.
This position plays an important role in ensuring housing units meet required standards, and building positive working relationships with behavioral health providers, housing authorities, landlords, property managers and consumers to support recovery and independent living goals.
Responsibilities Include:
- Processing applications and documentation for housing assistance program
- Conducting housing inspections to ensure compliance with program and safety standards
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with landlords and community housing partners
- Coordinating with behavioral health staff and community agencies to support housing stability
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Monitoring ongoing consumer eligibility and assisting with transition planning when consumers no longer meet income or program eligibility requirements
- Monitoring compliance with applicable housing regulations and standards
- Provide education and guidance to consumers regarding tenant responsibilities, budgeting, housing stability, and independent living
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work professionally and compassionately with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges
- Comfortable working independently and in community settings
- Experience in housing services, property management, behavioral health, social services, or related fields preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred; relevant experience considered
- Certification in NSPIRE or Housing Quality Standards (HQS) preferred (Training and certification support will be provided for the right candidate.)
Position Details:
- Part-time position (20 hours per week)
- Flexible scheduling may be available
- Some local travel required for inspections and landlord meetings. Mileage reimbursed for travel.
- Remote and/or in-office work options available
