Michigan Wellbeing Therapy Clinic: LLMSW Therapist Position
Location: Fully remote, Michigan-licensed clinicians only
A Note Before Applying
We ask that all applications be sent by email to the address provided at the end of this posting, since applications submitted through Indeed will not be reviewed. Taking the time to read through the full posting before reaching out helps us identify clinicians whose values and working style align with ours, and we appreciate the care that takes from the very first step.
About Michigan Wellbeing
Michigan Wellbeing is a fully virtual mental health clinic offering modern, affirming, and integrative care to individuals, couples, and families across the state. We are reshaping how mental healthcare is delivered by moving past traditional single-modality models and instead weaving together evidence-based approaches with deeper, whole-person methods rooted in psychodynamic and relational therapy, somatic practices, family systems, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and expressive therapies.
Our mission is twofold. The first is to provide high-quality mental health services grounded in an integrative approach, drawing from multiple evidence-based modalities to build treatment plans tailored to each client's particular needs, experiences, and goals, rather than relying on a single therapeutic model. The second is to train and support clinicians in becoming skilled integrative therapists, equipping them with broad clinical tools across modalities like psychodynamic therapy, CBT, somatic practices, and family systems, alongside the supervision, mentorship, and infrastructure needed to grow into confident, well-rounded practitioners.
The clients we serve span a wide range of ages, identities, and presenting concerns. We work with children, teens, college students, adults, couples, and whole family systems, and our specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism and neurodivergence, identity development, executive functioning, parenting, and relational repair. Our clinicians are trained in neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and culturally responsive care, and the integrative lens shapes every part of how we practice.

The Position
We are currently looking for an LLMSW, licensed in Michigan, to join our growing clinical team. The role is built for clinicians who are open to working with a broad mix of clients, including individuals, couples, families, children, and teens, and who are looking to deepen their clinical work within a supportive, training-centered environment. We are only hiring LLMSWs at this time and do not have openings for other license types.
Because of how our clinic is structured and how our integrative training model works, we are looking specifically for clinicians who are comfortable moving across populations and presentations. Clients are assigned to you directly based on clinical fit and availability. If you have an existing caseload and your current practice allows you to bring clients with you, we are open to that as well, provided those clients are covered by the insurances we accept, which are Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Aetna, and Priority Health.
What You Can Expect
Training-Focused Clinical Support
This is a supervised learning environment intentionally built for early-career clinicians. You will receive weekly individual clinical supervision with a fully licensed LMSW, ongoing consultation with the clinic director, and access to a monthly clinical training open to the whole team. Our aim is to help you deepen your clinical skills, explore new modalities, and develop the kind of grounded professional identity that will carry you across a long career.
Operational and Administrative Support
We handle the backend infrastructure so that you can keep your attention on client care. Insurance credentialing, billing and claims submission, eligibility verification, scheduling, intake coordination, marketing, and outreach are all handled by our office manager and administrative team. We use SimplePractice as our electronic health record, which brings scheduling, documentation, billing, and the client portal into a single platform and syncs with your personal calendar so that sessions are booked according to your real availability without the risk of double-booking.
Your Responsibilities
Providing virtual therapy to individuals, couples, families, teens, and children, based on clinical fit and assignment
Completing progress notes within 24 hours of each session, in keeping with the clinic-wide documentation standard
Developing treatment plans and keeping all clinical documentation current and compliant
Attending weekly supervision and meaningfully integrating feedback from your supervisor into your clinical work
Preparing thoughtfully for sessions and continuing to develop your clinical tools over time
Participating in trainings, team consultations, and team meetings as they arise
Keeping your calendar availability up to date so that scheduling can move smoothly
Using accurate CPT codes and modifiers and maintaining consistent communication with our administrative and clinical teams
Additional clinical responsibilities will be discussed and outlined in your contract.
Caseload and Growth
The minimum we expect clinicians to carry is 20 clients at any given time. We are also looking for clinicians who want to invest fully in one clinic rather than splitting time between multiple practices. For pre-licensed clinicians especially, splitting clients across practices also means splitting supervision across practices, which tends to result in less cohesive support and less consistent oversight of your clinical development.
Compensation
LLMSWs receive 50% of collected session revenue, along with 100% of any cancellation or late-cancel fees collected on their sessions. Fully licensed LMSWs receive 60% of collected session revenue. Insurance and self-pay sessions typically reimburse in the range of $120 to $165 before the split, which means an LLMSW can generally expect $60 to $82.50 per 53-minute session.
Clinicians are paid after insurance reimbursement or client payment has been received. All supervision, case consultations, monthly trainings, credentialing, billing, and administrative services are included at no cost to you.
Insurance We Accept
We are currently paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Aetna, and Priority Health. We do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance plans at this time.
What We Are Looking For
LLMSW (or pending license) in the state of Michigan
Willingness to work with a broad caseload that includes individuals, children, teens, families, and couples
Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming care
Strong organization and communication skills, with the discipline to keep documentation timely
Openness to feedback, continued learning, and the collaborative culture of a small team
Previous clinical experience is preferred but not required.
To Apply
We receive a high volume of applications and, as a small team, are not able to schedule initial interviews with every applicant. To help us get to know you and to give each application the attention it deserves, we ask that you submit a brief introduction along with your resume or CV.
Your introduction can take the form of a short video of three to five minutes or written responses. Video is our preferred format because it gives us a clearer sense of how you think and communicate, but we would rather hear from you in whatever format feels manageable than not hear from you at all. The video does not need to be polished or rehearsed; we simply want to hear from you. We do ask that you record it in the same space where you would be providing virtual therapy, so that we can get a sense of your working environment.
In your video or written response, please address the following:
A brief introduction to yourself and what you are looking for at this stage of your career
How much experience you have providing therapy, and in what settings
What draws you to a clinic like Michigan Wellbeing
Whether you are comfortable working with a broad range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, children, and teens
To record, you are welcome to use your smartphone camera, your computer's built-in camera, or a free tool like Loom (loom.com), which produces a shareable link without requiring you to send a large file. If your video ends up too large to email, you can upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.
Send your application to miwellbeing777@gmail.com, along with your resume or CV and your video or written responses. A cover letter is welcome but not required.
