We build the roads, infrastructure, utilities, and energy systems that keep Hawai'i moving forward.

We’re looking for a sharp, dependable, field-driven GPS Field Technician who thrives outdoors, understands construction operations, and knows how to turn data, line, and grade into real-world execution. If you’re the type who enjoys technology, heavy equipment, problem-solving, and being part of a high-performing crew — this role was built for you.

This is more than a support role. You’ll be a critical piece of the operation that keeps projects accurate, efficient, and moving forward safely.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Set up and operate GPS receivers, total stations, subsurface line locators, and other field technology
  • Load and manage 3D models, site calibrations, and grade verification
  • Perform as-built surveys and maintain accurate field data
  • Direct equipment operators during excavation, grading, and material placement
  • Maintain visual and verbal communication with crews to ensure safe movement coordination
  • Support construction activities including:
    • Underground utilities
    • Concrete work
    • Pipe system assembly
    • Site preparation
    • Material handling
  • Operate tools and equipment such as:
    • Power tools
    • Rollers
    • Skid loaders
  • Assist with traffic control and overall site safety
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and efficient job sites
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support project success

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in construction, civil, utility, grading, surveying, or related field environments
  • Ability to operate GPS and field technology equipment effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
  • Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and active construction zones
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, walk, climb on/off equipment, and work in physically demanding environments
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and mechanical equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Experience with construction layout, machine control systems, or surveying equipment
  • OSHA certifications or safety training
  • Experience operating skid steers or compact equipment

Why Alpha?

At Alpha Inc., you’re not just another worker on a jobsite.

You’re part of a crew building projects that matter across Hawai'i.

We invest in people who:

  • Take pride in their work
  • Show up ready to contribute
  • Care about safety and teamwork
