Accounts Payable Assistant
Part-Time: 20 hours/week
4 days/week- Mon, Tues, Thurs. Fri (9:00AM-2:45PM) less 45 minute lunch hour
This is an on-site Role and does not offer remote or hybrid flexibly
$22-$24/hour
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role ensures that financial obligations are met while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting overall accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and payment requests
- Match invoices with purchase orders
- Calculating –corn contracts & other contracts-prepare for payment
- Code & maintain accurate records
- Prepare check payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation
- Support audits by providing required documentation and reports
- Balancing a checkbook to monthly statements
- Sort bills for scheduled payments
- Backup other positions – answering phones, weighting trucks, help with supervisors picking up products, taking feed orders
Required Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Strong organizational and time management skills
