Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect Consultant to support enterprise transportation network infrastructure, security operations, and connected transportation technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cisco networking, cybersecurity frameworks, traffic systems integration, and large-scale network architecture design.

This role involves implementing and documenting network changes, supporting network security initiatives, responding to outages and incidents, and contributing to the design and optimization of transportation-related network systems.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Engineering

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure solutions
• Implement and document network configuration changes for assigned projects
• Provide regular status updates and weekly reports to network services leadership
• Support routing, switching, segmentation, and WAN technologies
• Participate in network security design and implementation initiatives

Network Security & Incident Response

• Respond to network outages and security incidents
• Support implementation of network security controls and monitoring solutions
• Assist with cybersecurity compliance and risk mitigation initiatives
• Apply NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) standards and ITS security profiles

Transportation Systems & Infrastructure

• Support transportation-related networking and integration technologies including:
  • Traffic signal controllers
  • Conflict monitors
  • Traffic preemption devices
  • Traffic sensors
  • CCTV and video systems
  • Connected vehicle technologies
• Support integration of networking applications within transportation infrastructure environments

Required Technical Skills

Networking & Infrastructure

• 5+ years of experience with:
  • Transportation network design
  • Enterprise networking
  • Systems integration
  • Network security implementation
• Strong expertise with:
  • TCP/IP
  • VLANs
  • MPLS
  • VRF
  • SNMP
  • Cisco SD-WAN

Routing & Security Protocols

• Hands-on experience with:
  • EIGRP
  • OSPF
  • BGP
• Experience with:
  • Cisco FTD/FMC
  • Cisco XDR
  • Cisco Secure Access
  • Cisco Secure Endpoint
  • Cisco Network Analytics
  • Cisco Client technologies

Wireless & Connectivity Technologies

• Experience supporting:
  • WiFi
  • Cellular networks
  • 4G/5G infrastructure
  • Wireless roadway technologies (uRWB)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with:
  • Cisco Cyber Vision
  • Cisco Catalyst Center
  • Cisco ZTNA

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Related technical field
  • Equivalent work experience considered

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco CCNP certification or higher preferred
