We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer – Automation to join a modern application development team supporting partner portals, and API-heavy platforms. This role is ideal for a senior-level QA automation professional who has deep hands-on experience with Playwright, JavaScript, TypeScript, and API automation.
This position will play a key role in strengthening automation practices, mentoring junior QA engineers, improving test coverage, and helping drive quality initiatives across a fast-moving Agile/Scrum environment. Must be able to interview in person.
Compensation $115,000-$125,000 base salary + bonus potential
Hybrid, on site 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Build and execute automated tests for modern web applications, partner portals, and API-driven platforms
- Perform API testing and automation across a large API environment
- Partner closely with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product stakeholders within a Scrum team
- Mentor junior QA engineers and help elevate automation standards across the team
- Identify gaps in testing processes and recommend scalable automation improvements
- Participate in sprint planning, story refinement, test strategy discussions, and defect triage
- Use AI-enabled development tools such as GitHub Copilot and internal LLM tools to improve documentation, testing, and coding efficiency
- Contribute to coding challenges, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in quality engineering, test automation, or software testing
- Strong hands-on automation experience with Playwright
- Proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Experience with API testing and API automation
- Ability to mentor junior QA team members and lead quality initiatives
- Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in Omaha
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing partner portals, services platforms, high-volume API environments
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted coding/testing tools
- Experience creating automation frameworks from scratch or significantly improving existing frameworks
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration
- Experience working closely with developers on test strategy and code-level quality improvements
