The Role

As the US Emergencies Fellow, you’ll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will support the US Emergency Response Team as they create and enact new standard operating procedures and ways of working. The Fellow will primarily support knowledge management and operational processes for the emergency response team. There may be an opportunity to provide operational and reporting support to a response, depending on the response portfolio at the time of the internship

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • not inclusive of all role responsibilities. May be subject to change
  • Design and implement new talking points related to the importance and effectiveness of humanitarian assistance in the USA
  • Support coordination tasks, assist with knowledge management and organization, and provide timely surge support in emergencies where appropriate
  • Support the cash assistance team with administrative tasks

Required qualifications for the role

  • Must be actively enrolled in an Associates, Bachelors, or Master’s degree program, or have graduated within 6 months of the start date.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams, both internally and externally
  • Interest and experience in the Emergency Humanitarian sector
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred qualifications for the role

  • Interest and experience in domestic emergencie
  • Excellent writing and research skills.
  • Strong interest in global development, humanitarian, and/or domestic policy issues.
  • Demonstrated success providing excellent customer service.

Compensation: No pay unless provided by university

Hours: maximum 35 hours per week

Dates: September 28, 2026 - December 11, 2026
