As a quality assurance analyst in the Technology Procurement & Implementation Services practice area, you will collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA counterparts to support the implementation of an enterprise system.
Serving as a quality assurance analyst, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through comprehensive testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role supports the full software development lifecycle by developing testing strategies, executing test plans, identifying defects, and promoting quality standards and best practices.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases to validate software applications, system enhancements, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, API, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing across multiple platforms and environments to ensure application quality and system reliability.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution while validating fixes and ensuring implemented solutions meet business and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to review requirements, communicate testing progress and risks, and support successful deployments and post-release validation activities.
- Maintain testing documentation and traceability matrices, participate in Agile development activities, and recommend continuous improvements to QA methodologies, standards, tools, and compliance practices
- Experience in software quality assurance, application testing, or systems analysis within enterprise technology environments.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile/Scrum practices.
- Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for software applications and system enhancements.
- Demonstrated experience performing functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience writing and testing to acceptance criteria.
- Clear understanding of user stories.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technical staff.
- Execute SQL queries or work with databases to validate data integrity (as needed)
- Show attention to detail when reviewing requirements and test results
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in fast-paced environments
- Collaborate effectively within team settings while also working independently
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an independent verification and validation (IV&V) environment.
- Experience using artificial intelligence tools
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing automated test cases for web applications using Mabl or (any other automation testing tool).
- Demonstrated experience using natural language tools such as Gherkin for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) testing.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Seven years of quality assurance with hands-on testing experience with two years in automation testing preferred.
- An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
