Job Overview:
The Field Service Specialist (FSS) is responsible for developing and coaching Sales and Service Representatives (SSRs) to deliver consistent, high-quality service across Vestis First Aid routes. This role focuses on hands-on training, product knowledge, service standards, and compliance to ensure SSRs effectively manage customer accounts and maintain stocked, organized, and compliant first aid programs. The FSS provides critical operational support by covering route responsibilities as needed to ensure uninterrupted customer service during extended SSR absences.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Train and onboard new SSRs on route operations, service expectations, and company procedures
Provide hands-on coaching in the field, including ride-a longs and real-time feedback
Teach proper servicing of first aid cabinets, including restocking, organization, and inventory control
Educate SSRs on OSHA and ANSI first aid supply guidelines and compliance standards
Reinforce customer service best practices and relationship-building skills
Support SSRs in identifying customer needs and service opportunities
Develop and maintain training materials, guides, and standard operating procedures
Partner with sales and operations leadership to ensure consistency across routes
Monitor performance and provide ongoing development to improve service quality and efficiency
Assist with rollout of new products, programs, and service initiatives
Route Coverage & Operational Support
Provide temporary route coverage for SSRs during extended absences (e.g., leave, vacancies, or business needs)
Service customer accounts to maintain continuity, including restocking, compliance checks, and customer communication
Ensure service standards and customer expectations are consistently met during coverage periods
Identify and communicate any account issues, risks, or opportunities while managing the route
Support smooth transition of accounts back to assigned SSRs

Experience/Qualifications:
Experience as an SSR or in route-based service within First Aid & Safety or a related industry
Strong knowledge of first aid products, cabinet service, and compliance standards
Prior training, coaching, or leadership experience preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel consistently (75%-100%) and as needed within assigned territory and support route coverage as needed
License Requirements/Certifications:
Vaid Driver's License
Working Environment/Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:
Exposure to adverse and varying weather conditions which may include extreme hot/cold temperatures depending on geographical location.
Fast-paced environment requiring irregular and long hours.
Must be able to routinely lift and maneuver a minimum of 25 lbs. and load/unload product from truck without assistance.
Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 50+ lbs. Requires bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.

Employees are able to enroll in the company's 401k plan. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation after 6 months, 5 paid sick days every year. Employees will also receive 6 of paid holidays* and 3 floating holidays * throughout the calendar year.

Compensation: The hourly rate that Vestis reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $27 to $32, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
