Compensation:
$25.75/hour

TEMPORARY additional pay of $2.50/hr for every hour worked.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position located within the Human Resource Department at Larned State Hospital and is responsible for managing payroll and timekeeping processes as well as Data Collection/Monitoring/Tracking.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Payroll & Timekeeping Processing

  • Manages and coordinates payroll for the agency. Inputs payroll and generates related reports and monitors for accuracy.
  • Responsible for payroll and timekeeping adjustments, corrections. Counsels employees on payroll earnings and timekeeping.
  • Processes supplemental checks as necessary and within appropriate guidelines. Coordinates and advises the Division of Accounts and Reports, Division of Personnel Services and Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services regarding payroll/timekeeping functions when required. Responsible for monitoring timekeeping activities for compliance to Federal Wage and Hour Laws and LSH Policies and Procedures.

Data Collection/Monitoring/Tracking

  • Processes all terminations, monitors processes and reviews payroll/timekeeping system for quality improvements.
  • Completes I-9’s for all new hires (paper form and E-Verify) and makes sure we are following USCIS rules and regulations. Recommends changes and improvements to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Maintains a tracking/monitoring/notification system for identified projects on a monthly, quarterly, annual or as needed basis. The incumbent is the lead worker in the reporting of statistical/monitoring/notification of data as requested by the HR Director. Collects and aggregates data for joint commission, KDHE, and CMS compliance reports. Prepare graphs and presents to the HR Director and Executive Committees or as requested. Maintains staffing plan and updates as needed. Conducts specialized research studies at the direction of the HR Director.

Position Management

  • Manages and provides continuous updates to LSH Organizational Charts. Cross references information with Position Descriptions, PRFs, Supervisory Status, Supervisor Assignment, Staffing Plan and Organizational Chart to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and data. Changes positions and supervisors as needed in Sharp and the staffing plan. Attends HR meetings, provide HR data per ad hoc requests to superintendent, community, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
  • Pass a background/fingerprint check conducted by KDADS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience working within Human Resources/comparable environment
  • Strong organization and computer skills
  • Bilingual

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a KBI background and pre-employment drug test.
