Job Description

Are you a proven manufacturing finance leader who has successfully steered a team through a complex ERP system migration? We are seeking a professional Plant Controller to head our client's finance department near Moscow, TN, not only being a viable addition to the team but to also spearhead a critical upcoming transition from Sage 50 to Microsoft Dynamics 365. In this vital leadership role, you will take operational ownership of the site's general ledger, manage core journal entries and fixed assets, supervise the AP/AR functions, and optimize internal controls to protect data integrity. By driving the daily accounting engine and managing corporate audit preparations, you will serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and directly alleviate the operational workload of the VP of Finance. Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Supervise all primary general ledger activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and capital expenditure review including month-end and year-end close procedures.

  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, schedules, and variance analyses for both local management and corporate leadership review.

Internal Controls & Process Optimization

  • Analyze, document, and strengthen internal accounting workflows across critical transactional cycles

  • Coordinate all internal and external audit preparation,

  • Lead the plant’s upcoming financial system migration, driving the transition of core accounting operations and historical data from Sage 50 to Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Costing, Budgeting, and Financial Analysis

  • Drive the continuous improvement and maintenance of a robust, sustainable manufacturing cost accounting system.

  • Lead the site’s annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and financial planning operations.

Team Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with the VP of Finance to deliver strategic fiscal guidance to the Plant President and executive staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive, post-graduate accounting or finance experience.

  • Proficiency with ERP platforms (direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly advantageous).
