Compensation:
$15.03

TEMPORARY additional differential of $2.50/hr for all hours worked.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary: The incumbent of this position provides general mechanical repairs, remodeling, alterations, grounds maintenance and support to other trades within the department. This includes assessment of ongoing, preventative maintenance, assessment of needed repairs and completion of the repairs with, or without immediate supervision. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that work is completed accurately and professionally in each area.


Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • On routine work employee determines what is needed by examning approved work orders and/or conducting an on-site inspection.
  • Repair parts, materials, supplies and small tools needed to complete assignments are requisitioned from the warehouse.
  • Be alert to any unsafe conditions, faulty equipment, and other on-the-job hazards and report to supervisor.
  • Proactively review buildings and infrastructure making repairs on the spot when able.
  • Assist the carpenters with the interior of existing structures to provide and environment which allows maximum efficiency in hospital operations by installing partitions, ceilings, windows, doors, floors, and hanging sheetrock.
  • Prepare exterior surfaces of existing structures such as buildings, windows, doors, fences, etc. by scraping and cleaning.
  • Assists crafts with the removal, replacement and new sidewalk construction, carpentry work, maintain grounds equipment and service/replace parts.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Six months of experience in a building trade or mechanical building trade.
