Job Summary:
District 69 is offering a half-day Algebra Bridge program for students entering 8th grade during Summer 2026. This year, we will be offering blocks in both the morning and afternoon.
The teacher will instruct a class by teaching the essentials of algebra skills. The teacher will cooperatively work with other classroom teachers and Summer Programming staff. The teacher will be responsible for the students of the assigned class, effectively teaching the curriculum to meet individual needs of students, and evaluating student progress.

- Mandatory Training: June 10, 11
- Session 1: July 13, 14, 15, 16, 17
- Session 2: July 20, 21, 22, 23, 24
Work Hours: 8:15am-3:45pm
Qualifications:
- Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (PEL) with a middle school math endorsement, required
- Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to all sessions
- Ability to attend Mandatory Training dates
Rate of Pay:
- $40 per hour (click here for more information)
Job Responsibilities
- Attend professional development sessions with coaches and/or CFC
- Commit to being in attendance for the duration of the summer program
- Create a welcoming environment where students feel safe to learn
- Communicate with families regarding student progress
- Obtain qualitative data that will assist in informing the program outcome measures
- Collaborate with colleagues regarding curriculum and instruction
- Support students' social and emotional development using our foundational community building structures and strategies (morning and closing meetings, advisory, etc.)
- Create and organize daily lessons and sub plans (if needed), using your pre-plan and flex planning time
- If staff need to be absent on a given day, that individual is responsible for entering their absence in Aesop no later than 6:00 a.m. on the day of the absence and $280 (full day) or $160 (half day) will be deducted by the District from the total stipend to account for the missed day. The District will pay the substitute a daily rate of $280 (7 paid hours) and $160 (4 paid hours) for on-site duties. Summer program teachers will be paid for their 1.50 flex planning time and are expected to create sub plans for any absences.
Staffing Decisions:- District 69 teachers who can commit to full day and all programs weeks for that grade level
- District 69 teachers who taught Summer Exploration/Jump Start/Algebra Bridge in the last year
- District 69 teachers
- District 69 PSRP union employees who hold a PEL
- District 69 PSRP union employees with a Substitute License or outside candidates with a Substitute License
