Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time
faculty member. This position will be based at Children's Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora and/or across System of
Care sites. Developmental Pediatrics provides a people-first, strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach to developmental assessment,
management, and intervention for children and youth with a wide range of developmental and related challenges. Developmental Pediatrics is
part of the Neuroscience Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado, which also includes Child Neurology and Neurosurgery. Clinicians in
Developmental Pediatrics work closely with Child Psychiatry, Genetics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurology, and Special Care Clinic, offering
robust opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Psychologist will provide neurodevelopmental evaluations and
intervention services for children with developmental conditions including, but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual
Disability, neurogenetic conditions, and other developmental disabilities. In addition to clinical excellence, faculty are expected to
demonstrate skills and contributions in clinical consultation, research/scholarship, and teaching and training related to developmental
disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provision of direct clinical services to children with neurodevelopmental and
developmental conditions, including psychological interventions utilizing evidence-based individual and group treatment
modalities.
Conduct individual and, when appropriate, interdisciplinary assessments addressing developmental and adaptive
functioning concerns.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, advanced
practice providers, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals to inform diagnostic conceptualization, intervention
planning, and continuity of care.
Participate actively in the education and training of psychology externs, interns, or
psychology postdoctoral fellows, as well as medical students, residents, and fellows. Training activities may include clinical supervision,
case consultation, and didactic teaching.
Contribute to program development and clinical innovation within Developmental
Pediatrics and affiliated programs, including participation in quality improvement initiatives and the refinement of clinical pathways and
service models.
Demonstrate scholarly interest and activity consistent with an academic medical center appointment. Scholarly
contributions may include clinical research, program evaluation, development of evidence-based interventions, literature reviews,
dissemination of findings, and participation in the development of clinical guidelines or educational materials related to developmental
conditions.
Work Location:Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite at the Anschutz Medical
Center, Aurora, CO, or one of the other Developmental Pediatrics Network of Care locations.

interventions. We also participate in neurogenetic multidisciplinary clinics outside our section. We have a medical fellowship program in
developmental and behavioral pediatrics, and psychology externships, as well as pre- and post-doctoral training programs. We also have a
strong research program and excellent faculty support by the Department of Pediatrics.

Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Assistant
Professor:- Candidates must be eligible for licensure, or a licensed psychologist in Colorado.
- Graduate of an
accredited Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology program or the equivalent.
- Graduate of an APA accredited psychology
internship.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities or the equivalent.
Associate
Professor:- Candidates must be eligible for licensure, or a licensed psychologist in Colorado.
- Graduate of an
accredited Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology program or the equivalent.
- Graduate of an APA accredited psychology
internship.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities or the equivalent.
- Experience: Typically 4-7+ years of
post-licensure clinical experience in pediatric/developmental settings (or equivalent).
- Clinical Leadership: Demonstrated
progressively independent practice and programmatic contributions.
Professor:- Candidates must be eligible
for licensure, or a licensed psychologist in Colorado.
- Graduate of an accredited Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology program
or the equivalent.
- Graduate of an APA accredited psychology internship.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental
Disabilities or the equivalent.
- Experience: Typically 7-10+ years post-licensure with recognized expertise in developmental
disabilities.
- Clinical Leadership & Innovation: Sustained leadership of service lines, new program development, or system-level
quality initiatives with documented outcomes
- Teaching & Mentorship: Substantial and sustained
teaching/mentorship
- Scholarly/Academic Impact: National reputation demonstrated by senior/lead authorship, practice guidelines,
invited keynotes, PI/co-PI roles, or equivalent
Condition of Employment:- Must successfully pass a
drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background

Preferred Qualifications:- Two (2) or more years of post-graduate clinical
experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities in medical, specialty care, or interdisciplinary
settings.
- Experience providing caregiver-mediated interventions, parent training, and consultation to medical and educational
teams.
- Proficiency with standardized psychological, developmental, and adaptive behavior assessment instruments commonly used in a
pediatric population.
- Experience addressing common developmental concerns including sleep, toileting, and feeding challenges in
pediatric populations.
- Teaching, supervision, or mentorship experience with psychology trainees, medical learners, or
interdisciplinary professionals.
- Record of scholarly activity, quality improvement, program development, or clinical innovation
relevant to psychology or developmental-behavioral health.
- Experience navigating healthcare documentation, regulatory requirements,
and ethical considerations related to psychological services in pediatric medical settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing
access to care for children with developmental disabilities and their families.
- A history of academic or scholarly activity and
interest related to the field of clinical psychology and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:- Demonstrable familiarity with a range of developmental behavioral conditions.
- Familiarity and
expertise with intervention processes and/or instruments used with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.
- The
ability to create strong and respectful professional relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Curiosity about the impact of
neurodevelopmental conditions and the impact on social cognition, adaptive functioning, and cognitive abilities.
- Ability to
appropriately conceptualize for parents and professionals the developmental challenges and strengths of autism spectrum disorders,
intellectual disabilities, as well as the relationship between test results, functioning, and recommendations for intervention.
- The
ability to provide thoughtfully planned evidence-based intervention for children, adolescents and/or their families with developmental
behavioral conditions.
- The ability to embrace and help to sustain a vibrant, positive team environment with respect for providers,
support staff, patients, and their families.
- A people-first, strength-based, neurodiverse affirming approach to people living with
developmental disabilities to ensure best outcomes.

Anticipated Pay Range:The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has
been established as
HIRING RANGE:Assistant Professor: $110,000-$125,000
Associate
Professor: $134,000-$154,000
Professor: $185,000-$239,000
The above hiring range represents the
University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible
for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
