Description of Job

Business & Licensing Division

The Business and Licensing Division receives filings such as business and nonprofit registrations, trade names, secured liens, notary public applications, bingo and raffle reports, Universal Commercial Code (UCC) filings, and charity registrations. Additionally, the Business and Licensing Division licenses durable medical equipment providers, promotes availability of government data, processes fraudulent business filing complaints, and makes performing rights society information accessible. Most filings are submitted electronically, and the Department disseminates this information to the public through its website.

Bingo-Raffle Unit

The work unit exists to carry out the mandate of the Secretary of State to support and regulate the bingo and raffle sectors in the state of Colorado. The Bingo-Raffle program carries out this mission through various outreach, assistance, and enforcement activities, with a focus on consistently improving service to a diverse customer base, including licensees, hall owners, games managers, players, manufacturers, and suppliers.

Illustration of key duties

  • Develop an understanding of all relevant laws, Statute, and rules surrounding Bingo-Raffle programs in order to interpret and apply those for completion of duties.

  • Provide support in the areas of data analysis and entry on quarterly reports, bingo-raffle licenses, games manager certificates, scanning and verification of those scans, and filing.

  • Assist with Colorado Charitable Gaming Board meetings.

  • Process and verify completeness of license renewals and process and verify raffle tickets submitted.

  • Make eligibility determinations on applications/renewals.

  • Process payments for the Bingo-Raffle unit, answer routine calls, and other duties as assigned, including potential cross-training opportunities in other units.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all confidential and personal identifying information, personnel information, and any other confidential or proprietary information, as well as comply with all State and Department policies regarding professional conduct and professional practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:This position requires a total oftwo (2) yearsof relevant professional experience and/or education in a field of study related to the work. To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate that you meetone of the following options outlined below:

Two (2) years of professional experience in an administrative or office support role that included data entry, reviewing information for accuracy, and providing customer service in an office environment.
