Youth Respite Provider – Emphasizing Safety, Emotional Regulation & Support
We are looking for a caring and attentive Youth Respite Provider to support a lively young boy who is blind in the Brown County area. This position involves providing individualized, one-on-one care that prioritizes safety, encourages companionship, and maintains a structured, supportive environment.
The ideal candidate is patient, observant, and proactive. The child’s mother is seeking someone who can provide attentive care for her one-year-old son, who is blind and thrives on connection. He does not enjoy being alone and especially loves music, engaging sounds, and meaningful human interaction. The right person will offer consistent companionship, nurturing support, and a responsive presence to help him feel secure and engaged.
Location: Wrightstown, WI *Child's residence*
Compensation: $17.66/Hour
Flexible schedule: 20 hours weekly support
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one safety-focused care and constant supervision
- Engage with the child in activities such as toys with different sounds, rattles, peek-a-boo, light up toys, holding child, or helping child get to bed if person works second shift.
- Maintain open communication with the parents.
Ideal Candidate Will Be:
- Remain calm and attentive while maintaining a safe, structured environment
- Have experience supporting children on the autism spectrum or with sensory-related needs
- Feel confident engaging in both active play and quiet, regulation-focused activities
- Demonstrate patience, compassion, and flexibility in meeting evolving care needs
- Communicate effectively and value a collaborative partnership with the family
- Experience with Cerebral Palsy preferred such as PT, OT, Speech.
Requirements:
- Must pass a caregiver/criminal background check
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
