What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):

Provide Academic Support: Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce lessons, adapt materials, and help students stay focused and organized during school work.

Guide Behavioral & Social Growth: Safely implement positive behavior interventions and de-escalation strategies. Support students through daily routines, transitions, sensory breaks, and social interactions.

Collaborate Daily: Assist the lead teacher with classroom management, prep materials, and keep accurate tracks of student academic and behavioral progress data.

Maintain a Safe Environment: Provide consistent supervision during class, lunch, recess, and transitions to ensure a structured and positive school environment.

Experience: Prior experience working with youth in a school, camp, daycare, or behavioral/therapeutic setting is a major plus.

Key Traits: Extraordinary patience, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm and positive during challenging situations.

Skills: Strong communication skills and a team-first mentality.

Physical Ability: Must be able to actively move about the classroom, accompany students throughout the school building, and keep up with a dynamic school day.

Perspectives Academy (PA) is an educational and therapeutic program within Jay Berk PhD & Associates for students needing highly individualized instruction and academic supports. PA provides a structured, sensory-aware environment that integrates academic learning with social-emotional supports. With a student-first philosophy and low staff-to-attendee ratios, our team helps students build confidence, develop life skills, and succeed in and out of the classroom.
