Join Bismarck State College's Admissions team as an Admissions Processor and play an important role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and student-focused admissions experience.
In this role, you’ll support prospective students, families, and campus partners by processing admissions applications, maintaining accurate student records, and assisting with day-to-day admissions operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, collaborative, and committed to confidentiality and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance to students, parents, staff, and the public regarding admissions and enrollment processes.
- Process admissions application materials, maintain student files, perform data entry, and scan documentation.
- Review admissions files to ensure required documents are complete and accurately submitted.
- Analyze applications to help identify potential ghost or fraudulent student activity and flag concerns for further review.
- Support institutional compliance, data integrity, and protection of college resources.
- Monitor application software and payment systems to ensure timely processing of applications.
- Communicate applicant status updates and admissions information to students and campus partners.
- Run PeopleSoft processes and queries for reporting purposes.
- Compose routine correspondence, memoranda, and reports.
- Collaborate with departments across campus to support updates and improvements to student file processes.
- Serve as backup support for phones, online application assistance, and front-end admissions procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Participate in departmental and campus meetings and contribute ideas that improve processes and student service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate associate degree or two years of directly related work experience in a customer service position.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and independently manage many different activities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate tactfully and with emphasis on good customer service.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in computer software programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, email & electronic calendar, and internet) and
- excellent keyboarding skills.
- Disciplined and able to maintain confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate associate degree.
- Three years of experience in a comparable position in higher education.
- Experience with PeopleSoft or other student administration software and scanning.
