Job Description

Position Summary:

The Department of Management and Marketing in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in Business to begin August 1, 2026.

The duties in this role include:

  • Provide excellent instruction in a variety of undergraduate business courses including a first-year introduction to business and second year business career/professional development course for the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. This position carries a teaching load of 24 credits per academic year. Other courses may be assigned depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

  • Assess students' work and provide detailed feedback on how to improve their content knowledge, critical thinking skills, oral and written communication skills, etc.

  • Mentor undergraduate students through one-on-one and group interactions and independent study opportunities.

  • Attend conferences and workshops as necessary to remain active in the field(s) of study and qualifications for AACSB accreditation; engage with department and School of Business and Entrepreneurship faculty to further develop teaching and mentoring skills; complete campus-wide training required by the Offices of Academic Affairs and Human Resources.

  • Perform other departmental duties and attend activities as necessary, including attending faculty meetings, and participating in committees, task forces, and others as required.

  • As part of the faculty member's service responsibility the successful candidate will serve as the Coordinator of SBE Experiential Learning and Student Success Initiatives the faculty member will assist the dean and department chairs with the development and implementation of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship experiential learning strategy and program design including a four-year experiential, career, and professional skills development framework for business majors:

  • Coordinate co-curricular programs that build professional skills, networking, leadership, and entrepreneurial mindset for students at each stage of their academic journey.

  • Collaborate with related units across the college.

  • Support faculty in development of signature experiential learning opportunities.

  • Coordinate key lower division undergraduate business course including holding faculty meetings, organizing high impact practices in coordination with dean's council, assurance of learning coordinator, and accreditation coordinator.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have completed a graduate degree in Business or related field

  • Recent engagement with industry

  • Meets AACSB faculty qualifications in one of the categories

  • Teaching experience

  • Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship

  • Experience or interest coordinating curriculum and co-curricular programming

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in business or related field such as Ph.D., D.B.A., or J.D.

  • Demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research

  • Experience with student success and co-curricular programming and management

Salary Range:

The budgeted salary range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000.
