The Consortium for Policy Research in Education is hiring a research assistant to conduct hands-on coding and data analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Primarily, the research assistant will conduct hands-on coding and data analysis of qualitative and quantitative data collected from multiple impact evaluations under the supervision of a senior research scientist and/or PI. He/she should be familiar with STATA, Atlas.ti, and Qualtrics. The research assistant may also organize data sets, arrange and conduct interviews to gather data, and write reports using both quantitative and qualitative data. This position is on a hybrid schedule.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Created in 1985, CPRE unites researchers from seven of the nation's leading research institutions—University of Pennsylvania, Teachers College Columbia University, Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Northwestern University—in an effort to improve elementary and secondary education through practical research. CPRE researchers have made their mark studying the effectiveness of federal, state, and local policies, with particular emphasis on accountability systems, school finance, teacher quality initiatives, assessment systems, and school governance. CPRE-TC focuses on research and development of tools, processes, and policies intended to promote the use of evidence-based practices and the continuous improvement of instructional practice locally, nationally and across the globe.
