Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. Job Duties: Gather database requirements for various applications. Install and configure databases according to requirements. Set up high availability and high reliability for databases. Perform database maintenance tasks, such as defragmentation, upgrades and storage management. Build bash scripts to automate database maintenance tasks, such as backups, and error alerts. Configure performance optimization and replication for database servers. Implement best practice configurations for database, memory, OS and storage engine. Recommend and build out indexes for necessary queries.
