The Software Engineer II will develop and maintain high-level observatory software systems, including specialized hardware like scientific cameras and motion control systems. This will include working with PLCs and other low-level controllers all the way up to as well as user interfaces and support for telescope operators, scientists, and engineers. Essential Functions Develop and maintain DKIST High Level Software systems in Java, C++ and Python. These systems include science-grade camera control and Delta Tau motion control systems. Design, develop, test, debug and maintain software ranging from hardware control to user interfaces.
