The University of Iowa Health Care department of Safety and Security is seeking a Clinical Hospital Security Officer . Under the direct supervision of the Security Supervisor and Nursing Director, this position is responsible for protecting patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property by rounding in assigned areas, engaging patients, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment while enforcing hospital policies at the University of Iowa Health Care. Provide surveillance of Behavior Health Units Work in collaboration with departmental staff (RNs, Behavioral Health Consultants, Unit Clerks, Psychiatric Nursing Assistants, etc.) to protect patients, visitors, and employees Provide a presence in the inpatient psychiatry clinics Respond to and assist in controlling combative patients Assist in re-direction and de-escalation of patient situations.
