The MassHealth Office of Long Term Services and Supports (OLTSS) is responsible for managing a robust system of supports for members of all ages who need services to live with independence and dignity in their daily lives, participate in their communities, and improve their overall quality of life. These services and supports may be provided in the home; in residential, day, and other community-based settings; or in certain facility-based settings, such as nursing facilities and chronic disease rehabilitation hospitals. The Deputy Director of Institutional Programs is responsible for the administration of the Nursing Facility and Chronic Disease Rehabilitation Hospital (CDRH) programs. Currently, MassHealth serves approximately 30,000 members in nursing facilities and 11,000 members in inpatient and outpatient chronic disease rehabilitation hospitals, at a cost of more than $2 billion annually.
