POSITION OVERVIEW: The Early Head Start Program provides comprehensive services and home visits to pregnant women, infants, and toddlers. The Parent Educator delivers weekly home visits that encourage caregivers to develop and strengthen their skills as primary educators of their child(ren). During these visits, the Parent Educator will proide support and information related to child development, educational activities, community resources, health and social services. The Parent Educator will also provide similar services, to families in social settings in an effort to develop networking skills for caregivers, preschool readiness skills for children and provide a setting for caregivers to model appropriate social interactions. The Parent Educator will partner with caregivers in order to implement astructured Family Partnership Agreement which is designed to identify family needs and assist in creating an action plan to meet them.
