Job Responsibilities As deputy general counsel, represents the department in civil actions, appellate court actions, and administrative actions in both state and federal forums. As a special state prosecutor, the deputy general counsel represents the state in criminal court in cases involving the department. After consultation with appropriate department staff, persuasively presents and advocates the department’s positions on matters in question. Provides legal counsel to the deputy director of police services, the director, senior executive office staff and other agency personnel in matters of state and federal law, in matters of administration and legislation related to law enforcement. Serve as liaison for police services between the solicitors' offices around the state, the AG's office, attorneys representing individuals in criminal cases.
