Position OverviewThe University of Kansas seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in Algebra and/or Combinatorics in the Department Mathematics to begin 8/18/2026. This is a non-tenure track, limited term, full-time appointment for three consecutive academic years through 5/16/2029. The faculty member will participate in the teaching mission of the Mathematics Department, which includes courses at the undergraduate and graduate level; conduct research in one of the designated areas leading to publication in appropriate media; and engage in department and professional service. Ph.D., ABD, or terminal degree is expected by the start date of appointment. The successful candidate for the position must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start of the position. The Department of Mathematics has an internationally recognized faculty and a strong graduate program leading to both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.
