Position Overview The Visitor Experience Assistant is responsible for helping to create a positive, memorable, and engaging experience for visitors at the KU Natural History Museum in Dyche Hall. They are required to greet and talk to visitors, answer questions regarding the museum and surrounding areas (in person and on the phone), and assist visitors with any needs they may have related to their visit. Visitor Experience staff members also are responsible for opening and closing the museum; restocking the museum gift shop and processing retail sales; tracking attendance and contributions; communicating and assisting with the museum’s Public Education department; and completing miscellaneous museum projects. Position OverviewA Facility Assistant will work in one or more of the four responsibility areas or positions within the ASRFC during a given shift. In each area, an Assistant shall enforce and implement policies and procedures or complete particular responsibilities so that the KU Recreation Services population has the opportunity to participate in desired recreational programs, facilities, and services. Assistants are expected to work during the following periods: fall and spring semesters; and fall, winter, and spring breaks. The summer semester is optional and is covered by those who are available to work.
