Job Description: Nurse / Physician Substitute Under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s), the Nurse (Physician Substitute) is responsible for determining the acceptability and suitability of all first-time and returning donors. This includes following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with FDA guidance and regulations. The Nurse reviews normal donor laboratory results and refers abnormal findings to the Licensed Physician for further evaluation. This role works closely with the Medical Director or Licensed Physician(s) when making decisions that directly impact donor eligibility. Additionally, the Nurse provides medical oversight in screening, phlebotomy, and plasma processing areas.
