Job Summary The GIS Technician is a geographically dispersed and cross-functional team that has the responsibility for the continuous development, data delivery and quality assurance, execution, and improvement of work activities as well as processes which directly support NiSource's gas and electric operations. The GIS Technician will review gas and electric facilities data captured for completion information to ensure compliance with proposed engineering designs, company policies, practices, standards, and other applicable codes. The Technician will update GIS and a work management system to accurately reflect gas system updates. As part of this process, the Technician will ensure that facility data is created, updated, and maintained accurately in the work management, GIS and plant accounting systems.
