Job Description The Department of Public Safety serves the Creighton community through proactive patrolling, rapid response, outreach, security technology, and safe transportation. Our goal is to create a secure environment for all community members. The team consists of 3 shift managers, 3 lead officers, 18 unarmed and armed officers, and 6 dispatchers. Public Safety is responsible for campus security, enforcement, emergency management, campus safety, and parking on the Omaha Campus. Officers protect life and property, demonstrating integrity, community engagement, and sound judgment under pressure. They respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, apply crime prevention techniques, and conduct investigations using surveillance and access records. Officers handle fire and security alarms, provide first aid, engage with students, enforce parking regulations, and assist with vehicle issues.
