Job Title: Fabrication Draftsperson / CNC Programmer-Operator Location: Whangarei, New Zealand Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Industry: Fabrication / General Engineering About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and practical Fabrication Draftsperson with strong AutoCAD skills and hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting machines and CNC brake presses. This is a dual-role position that combines detailed drafting, nesting/programming, and actual machine operation in a busy general fabrication and engineering workshop. Key Responsibilities: • Produce accurate 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD (and/or AutoCAD LT) from client sketches, specifications, or engineer mark-ups • Develop efficient nesting for CNC laser cutting to minimize material waste • Program and operate CNC press brakes (Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, LVD, etc.) including tool selection, back-gauge setup, and air-bending/spring-back compensation • Set up, operate, and perform basic daily...
