Summary The Emergency Medicine Physician provides programmatic and clinical support for the Lexington VA Health Care System's Emergency Medicine Service. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities Duties may include but are not limited to: Provide independent care delivery for chronic, acute/same day medical needs. The type of care is served to the Veteran population, with diseases consistent with those seen in the general population namely diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mental health disorders, etc. A part of your responsibility is to write orders for diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, consult with specialty service, and utilize computerized/electronic medical records. Qualifications To qualify for this position - you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
