The position works Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, and involves inspecting waterworks construction and installation projects to ensure materials, workmanship, and completed work meet approved plans, specifications, and Board of Water Supply standards. Depending on the project, the inspector may work independently on smaller assignments or assist a project engineer or senior inspector on larger, more complex projects.
