Responsibilities Supports the custody, care, and safety of prisoners in Johnson County Jail, Vernon County Jail and the Municipal Court. Enforces rules and regulations, ensuring the safety, welfare and maintaining discipline of inmates. Operates motor vehicles and specialized equipment as needed. Work assignments are monitored by upper Supervision. Work is performed by shifts, which are determined by bids in accordance with the MOU. The shifts are as follows: (Morning) 8:00am- 5:00 pm, (Evening) 3:30 pm-12:00 am).
