AP/PAYROLL CLERK GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Work involves responsibility for processing time and attendance submitted to the central payroll office by Town departments. Work includes checking submitted time entries for accuracy and confirming all changes, deletions, and additions to payrolls; related duties involve preparing invoices for deductions. Position also calculates various rates and amounts. Processes bills for payment, filing and record keeping. Involves grouping and preparing invoices for date input, and inputting data into the accounting system. The work requires the employee have sound knowledge, sill and ability in reconciling numerical data, processing and recording financial data and general business office practices.
