Definition This is technical and administrative work involving the City's automotive and heavy equipment fleet. An employee in this class is responsible for coordinating and managing the daily operations of motor vehicle and motorized equipment maintenance and repair activities. Works under the administrative and policy direction of the Motor Equipment Superintendent. Characteristic Work Assists with assigning City vehicles and ordering motor vehicle parts for all City divisions. Maintains records of parts, lubricants and fuel purchased. Coordinates and directs the repair and maintenance of automotive and construction equipment. Develops preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
