Temp - Leadership - Director of Nursing (DON) (Days) Shift Notes:40 Hour Guarantee Start: 05/04/2026 Location : Elk Horn, IA Facility : Salem Lutheran Homes & Rehab Center The Director of Nursing (DON) under the direction of the Executive Director has 24-hour responsibility for nursing care of all residents through the performance of nursing personnel as outlined in their job descriptions. Is responsible for adherence to all State and Federal Guidelines for Skilled Nursing Facilities. Direct Resident Care: Is ultimately responsible for the assessment of resident’s needs (MDS) and development of resident’s plan of care with goals to ensure the residents are able to achieve optimal care and services. Supervision: Regularly evaluates the progress toward these goals by resident rounds, observation of staff and change of shift reports.
