Health Promotion plays a crucial role in promoting student well-being through welcoming, respectful, and supportive programs. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized administrative professional to support the department in its mission. Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Completes bursar billing accurately for Substance Use Intervention Services
  • Maintains accurate records of student participation, interventions, and outcomes
  • Ensures all records comply with university policies on confidentiality and data security
  • Assists in organizing and coordinating workshops, educational seminars, and other Health Promotion events on a variety of well-being topics
  • Provides front-line support for students seeking assistance, offering information on available resources, and making appropriate referrals as needed

General Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
  • Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.
  • Compiles data for expense and statistical reports
  • Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately
  • Schedules and confirms appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
  • Tracks expenses
  • Participates in the development and implementation of administrative standards, policies, and practices for the organization
  • May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

  • 2 years of relevant experience

  • Strong working knowledge of office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and ability to quickly learn university-specific software for administrative tasks, data management, and billing
  • Excellent ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  • A strong focus on providing excellent service to students, staff, and campus partners, ensuring all interactions are respectful, prompt, and supportive

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This is an in-person position.

$18.00 - $18.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Up to 29 hours per week, with some weeks being less, based on departmental needs

This part-time position is primarily scheduled to provide coverage during lunchtime hours for full-time staff. Some flexibility is available based on candidate availability and departmental needs.

The office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and work hours will fall within this timeframe.
