We are seeking an outgoing and physically fit individual with Class 2 license and experience, to take on a busy and varied role in our Whakatane Yard. In this role you will be working alongside our small and productive Whakatane team. You will be required to buy and process materials in the yard and complete runs in our Class 2 manual Hino, with a Pal Finger, to do bin swaps and metal collections. Buying and processing responsibilities will include sorting and processing material by hand and using machinery onsite. With the appropriate training and qualifications this will include operating our excavators. Skills required: • You must enjoy and have experience in dealing with customers face to face, • Hold a full clean Class 2 New Zealand driver’s license. • Have at least 3 years’ experience operating Class 2 manual trucks. Pal Finger experience would be an advantage, however, can be trained. • Holding a WTR endorsement with some experience operating excavators would be an advantage. • Willing and ability to learn new skills. This will be a varied role where you will be required to process product in the yard as well as drive trucks. • Have basic computer skills. • Be physically fit and well presented – as you are the face of the company. • Can work on your own, be honest, and reliable. • Have attention to detail with ability to problem solve quickly. • Strong focus in Health and safety • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a drug and alcohol test. • Team player with a positive attitude to getting a job done and working with colleagues. • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, i.e., be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or a New Zealand permanent resident. • Must be available for full time hours including Saturdays. We offer a vibrant and friendly team atmosphere and free training and upskilling. The hours of work are Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. Weekly hours are between 40-50 hours per week.
