& Hazardous Materials Endorsements Department: Service/Maintenance Type: DIRECT HIRE Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: Based on Experience Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic with Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements to inspect, maintain, and repair tank trailers in compliance with DOT regulations. This role focuses on safety-critical systems and requires hands-on expertise with tank trailers, braking systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic components. Key Responsibilities Perform DOT-regulated inspections on cargo tanks and trailers Diagnose and repair tank trailer systems, ensuring all safety equipment, gaskets, valves, and fittings function properly Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure regulatory compliance Repair and service air brake systems, suspension components, and running gear Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems used on tank trailers Perform welding and fabrication as needed for trailer and tank repairs Complete accurate inspection and repair documentation Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures Required Skills and Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of tank trailer construction and DOT cargo tank regulations Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, or stick, depending on shop needs) Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Advanced understanding of air brake systems Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and safety-related issues efficiently Licensing and Endorsements Valid Class A CDL preferred or required Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements required or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe Must qualify for and pass TSA fingerprint-based background check for HazMat endorsement Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy-duty trailer or tank trailer maintenance preferred Trade school training or mechanic certifications are a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently at terminal or shop locations Work Environment Primarily shop- or terminal-based work Regular exposure to mechanical equipment, tools, and outdoor conditions May require lifting, standing, bending, and working around hazardous materials \*\** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: E-Mail a Rsum: keri@wisconsincountrystaffing.com This position is listed by a private employment agency.
