Who we are
Roth IAMS is a fast-growing leader in asset management and capital planning across North America. We help schools, hospitals, governments and other organizations understand the condition of their buildings and plan smart repairs and upgrades.
Why this role is exciting
Join a collaborative team doing hands-on, meaningful work that helps organizations prioritize building safety, accessibility and long-term planning. You’ll be in the field, learning fast, and delivering clear, actionable reports that shape real capital decisions.
What you’ll do
- Perform on-site visual assessments of roofs, building envelopes, structures, architectural systems (and sometimes mechanical/electrical or site infrastructure).
- Gather data, review drawings, and enter findings into our software tools (examples: SLAM CAP, VFA, AssetPlanner).
- Prepare clear, concise reports with observations, recommended repairs, and budget estimates.
- Tag and inventory equipment (make, model, serial #) and apply barcode/QR labels.
- Communicate directly with clients and the project team to keep work on schedule and on budget.
- Support related audits (energy, ADA, facility use) as needed.
Who you are
- Graduate of an engineering, architecture, structural/civil, or building science program (college or university).
- Experience with facility assessments, building systems, or construction is preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction materials, deterioration, repair methods, and building components.
- Strong technical writing and attention to detail — clear, evidence-based reporting.
- Good organizer: you manage time and projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Comfortable working at heights (ladders/rooftops).
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle; willingness to travel (up to a week at a time). Travel expenses reimbursed.
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficient. Knowledge of FCA methodology, Uniformat II, building codes, or capital planning software is a plus.
Compensation & benefits
- Salary range: $55,000 – $95,000/year
- Competitive pay + bonus program and 401(k) matching
- Comprehensive health benefits and generous vacation time
- Remote-friendly with up to 50% travel; summer hours and winter shutdown
