About the PositionUnder general supervision,
the Weekend Campus Safety Officer maintains safety, enforces College rules and regulations, and protects life and property within the
College community. The Officer is primarily responsible for following established operating procedures to control access to restricted areas
on campus. The Officer conducts patrols of the campus on foot, vehicle, or bicycle, responding to general calls for service and preparing
written reports of activities; locks and unlocks buildings as required; performs communications duties; monitors CCTV and various alarm
systems; and dispatches officers, as necessary. The Weekend Campus Safety Officer will primarily work from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. on
Saturdays and Sundays, with the opportunity to work occasional additional shifts.
Primary
Responsibilities- Patrol campus and control access to campus based on established protocols
- Greet visitors, students,
and employees in a friendly, professional manner
- Respond to routine calls for service
- Provide escorts for students, faculty,
and staff as requested
- Provide transportation as needed
- Assist ill or injured persons as needed
- Assist in the
emergency evacuation of buildings or areas
- Prepare written reports of work performed
- Respond to traffic hazards or
violations that could result in a vehicle being towed and/or booted
- Staff special event assignments, including athletic
competitions, move-in day, and commencement
- Attend training regularly and participate in departmental meetings
- Assume an
active role in College and departmental quality improvement efforts
- Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as
assigned
Line of Report: The Weekend Campus Safety Officer reports to the Operations Managers and shift
supervisors, and indirectly to the Director of Campus Safety.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or
equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation- must not have any felony or misdemeanor
convictions

Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of safety and
security practices in a college setting
- Experience in a security, police, EMS, or fire setting

Special Requirements- Ability to obtain and maintain PA Act 12 background
checks
- Possession of a valid U.S. Drivers' License and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Ability to become
certified in CPR and First Aid
